Joining
The Society
Membership in the Junior Strings, the Intermediate Strings and the Surrey Youth Orchestra is determined
by auditions for all players. Auditions are generally held twice each year, in May and in early September. Chamber Music placement auditions
usually take place at the same time. Individual auditions for the orchestras can sometimes be arranged at other times during the year,
as well.
There are still places available for the 2012 spring term in all three orchestras and for the Chamber Music Program.
- Youth Orchestra positions for flute and clarinet are full, but string players, and particularly brass, oboe, bassoon, and percussion players are encouraged to audition.
- Junior Strings and Intermediate Strings welcome auditioning players of violin, viola, cello and bass.
- Chamber Music auditions are open to players of all classical instruments.
Term 2 runs from February 4 to April 28, 2012
Please contact us for more information or to make an appointment.
